Year 4108, Earth
Log Entry: Today we found a book that describes a time where “planes” flew into “skyscraper buildings”. It says that the action was intentional and caused many people to die. These buildings fell down, and very few bodies were recovered. It says more planes tried to hit other buildings as well, one called The Pentagon. We feel the book must be fictional or an allegory that was used for instruction for some reason. We know that it’s not logical for one to “fly” a plane into a building, nor see people die but not be able to find their bodies. It must be a lesson on staying out of trouble and showing how trouble can cause things to disappear or get lost. The reference to pentagon is most likely referring to a 5 step lesson plan, where the next “plane to hit”, means next week’s lesson. Maybe it’s fictional and part of a 5 part series. It couldn’t be historical since it just makes no sense and we know that people do not act this way. We also know that the atmosphere cannot support flight due to it’s acidity and the fact that the atmosphere has always been this acidic and inhospitable. Life above ground has always been a great subject for fictional tales!

I wrote this blog today after thinking about how we cannot seem to fathom the book of Genesis or Jonah because we somehow know that it could not have happened as it is written. Are we so knowledgeable as to be able to discount things we may not understand?
