The Rapture is Irrelevant

Whether you believe in a Biblical rapture or not… Whether you believe Christians will endure the Tribulation or not… Post-trib, Pre-trib, End times, whatever.  In the end, it’s all irrelevant.

What matters is that we will all die one day and that will be our own “end rapturetimes”.  We are living in our own period of tribulation and it will end one day, most likely before Jesus returns.

So, quit getting caught up in the rapture phenomenon and get yourself right with God.  About 150,000 – 300,000 people die every day, and believe me, the rapture and when the Great Tribulation occurs was completely, 100% irrelevant for these lost lives.

What was relevant?  If they had placed their faith in the Savior, Jesus Christ.

Talking about all this stuff may be fun, and it may bring some people to Christ, but it can also be an incredible waste of time and hindrance to obeying God’s calling for your life.

Think about it.

Well said! While I tend Pre-Trib, I lately just came to the realization that it doesn’t matter. After being called a heretic several times because of my belief, I decided that, much like you have, the issue may be fun and intriguing, but in the end it’s irrelevant.

God gave us one mission on Earth. Spreading the Gospel. That’s what we need to focus on. Too many Christians have lost their focus and are trying to convert people to their theological viewpoint. I feel that this infighting is the biggest thing making people not come to Christ, as their afraid that they’ll be ridiculed for not believing like someone else.

I for one have determined in my heart to not let secondary theological issues get in my way as I tarry on in this life to fulfill God’s call for me. And I hope more and more Christians will do the same!

  2. Don’t forget:

    2 Peter 3:12
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

What does this mean. “looking for?” Is this an active thing? I think it is.

    Philippians 3:20
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

    Again, we “look.”

    Titus 2:13
    Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Again, we are to be looking. How then can the rapture be pushed aside? We are to be expecting!”

    • Thanks for the comment Lyle. Yes, for the Christian, we have this wonderful promise and expectation. We mustn’t let it get in the way of the Great Commission however. I believe it would be right to say that the rapture is something to look for, but in reality, it will occur after most of us have died in our physical bodies. If not, then all the better!
